History was made at the famous St. Andrew's links when Grent Britain defeated America in the Walker Cup golf match for the first time since the Inauguration of the competition in 1922. On Friday. Britain won the foursomes by two matches to one, one being haived.

On Saturday, Britain won the singles by Ave matches to three., Hector Thomson, last year's win- ' ner of the British Amateur Cham- pionship, shot a 68 this morning to equal Bobby Jones's course record and also secured a 6 up lead against Johnny Goodman, former U.S. Open and Amateur champion.
