INCREASED KIT ALLOWANCES
Admiralty Fleet Orders issued on May 20 give details of increases in the rates of allowances to men of the Navy for the upkeep the kit, to cozne into force on all sta tions on July 1. Until the War the sailor had to maintain his uniform at his own expense. but a kit upkeep allowance was granted in 1917 and has been in force ever since. It is credited to the accounts of the men quarterly.
