MESSAGE TO THE PEOPLE OF JAPANESE POLITICAL PARTIES

"Considering you as the representatives of the Japanese peo- ple, we offer you a word of advice. Since the Lukouchlao in- cident, f months have passed. A state of intolerable' blood-shed is still continuing in this contin nt. What is the object of the war? Can it be said that the war is fought for your people and for you yourselves?.. After the fall of the town, the couple still remained there as they had not sufficient means to flee. One day when the hus- band returned home, he saw his wife attacked by five Japanese soldiers. Whipping out his revolver, he shot them dead in quick succession.

Ashamed of being outraged, the wife begged her husband to kill her too. This he did with a heavy heart.
