Quiet conditions have prevalled during most of the past week, and, as mentioned yesterday, buyers. displayed inclinations to neglect the market unless shares could be obtained cheaper than the quoted prices At the opening this morn- ing. prices again gave way, but re- sistance point was soon reached and at the close, quotations in many instances show advances with buyers still in evidence, and sellers, having regained confidence, are holding off for more attractive ofers.
