TALK WITH
SCOUTS
When the King reviewed 1,000 King's Scouts from all parts of the United Kingdom on April 24 at Windsor Castle" the Queen had NO far recovered from her cold that she accompanied him; al- though the wind was chilly. She looked well, but wore a big fur round her neck as a protection. against the wind. Princess Elixa- beth and Princess Margaret aino watched the parade.
After the King's Scouts had marched past in the inner, quad- rangle the King and Queen went to chat with several Boy Scouts sudering from broken Imbs and other troubles #ho had been brought from Heatherwood Hos- pital..
While the review was in progress the silver band of the Foden Works from Sandbach played airs, and after the Scouta had marched off the King and Queen and the Princesses had a talk with Mr. Fred Mortimer, the bandmaster.
Mr. Mortimer showed the Queen a medal which commemorates the band's seven championships at the National Band Festival, at Crystal Palace.
The King's Scouts attended a service in St. George's Chapel conducted by the Dean of Windsor at which Lord Hampton, the Chier Commissioner, pronounced the Scout Law, and Lord Scmers, the Deputy Chief Scout, read the Scout Promise. From the steps of St. George's Chapel later. Dord Somers read a message from the Chief Scout seriding hearty good. wishes to the King's Scouts and other members of the movement.
