Shooting Year

Draws To A Close

SUNDAY SHOOT AS

THE FINALE

By F. Mela

Major G. P. Murray, Hon. Secre- tary of the Hong Kong Elffo As- sectation informed me yesterday that the Sanday shoot on May. 15," will mark the close of the 1977- 1938 season and that the 1938-39 season will" open on Wednesday. September 14. naxt.

The current season has proveď to be exceedingly successful and It is certain that on the few shoot- ing days that are left for the 1937- 38 period members will go to the range at Kowloon City in their numbers to put in as much shoot- ing as possible before storing their rides:

During the last three weeks over 40 now members were en- listed so that the total individual VERUJ membership now stan2018

at 1235 It will be seen, · khère- fore, that the good work started by Major D. IL Steers (who left for Home recently) is now being ably carried on by Major Mur-"

195.

Members are asked to note that the S. R. (B) teams for the forth- coming Sunday shoot will consist of four members and not five as previously announced.

The Naval Range Staff at Stone- very kindly placed cutters has three targets at the disposal of members of the Association today. This should be very welcome to those who went an 'extra · after- noon's shooting..

Towards the end of the month the Council meeting will be held when the Balance Sheet for the Bisley meeting will be presented.

TODAY'S LAWN BOWLS

MATCHES AND TEAMS

SATURDAY, MAY 7, 1938.

KNOWN THE WORLD OVER FOR ITS PURITY.

Craigengower Should Score MARTELL'S 3 STAR

Their Second Win At Valley

A full programme of lawn bowla, matches will be decided today and to judge by the results of the pre- vious week some decidedly good! games, should be scen.

Cralgengower Cricket Club, who) last week beat the Recreio, should be able to collect full points when they meet the Bowling Green at Happy Valley though I feel that

the latter will not be too far be- hind when the final tally is made..

I make bold to predict that the C.C.C. will, as usual, be near it at the end of the season,

Kowloon Cricket Club will be at

home to the Recreio who should score their first win of the season, and at Happy Valley the Police and Civil Service will probably be seen in a very close game with the odds slightly in favour of the Police who will be playing at home.

After their win over Police last; Week the Indians will start favourites against Kowloon Docks and as they will be playing at home an Indian R.C. win will not come as a surprise.
