(FROM OUR OWN" CORRESPONDENT)
Masao, May 1. Bright, happy scenes were witnessed last Sunday at the Macao race meeting which drew a record attendance. Excellent "conditions and good racing were the order of the day but, and except for Mr. Li Tse-fong's Gold Sovereign, which paid $142.80 to its backors in the Lappa Handicap, dividends were generally small owing to heavy backing on all starters.
Public interest was centred on the race for the Governor's Cup. the generous gift of H.E. the Governor of Macao: Dr. Artur Tamignini de Sousa Barbosa.
