GUIDE RALLY A BIG SUCCESS

Banner Won By 5th H.K. Company

The Girl Guide Rally was held at Central British School, by kind permission of Rev. G. E. S. Upsdell, Headmaster;

The on Saturday.

Rally took the form of an inter- Company competition for the Prince of Wales' Banner and there was a full attendance of Guides all keen to do their best.

The arst item of the competition was Company Marching, when the Guides put up a very amart ap- pearance. The second item was a Team Race incorporating questions on Guide work and proved to be quite a stim test.

Following this tea was served, and the Guide Association is in- debted to the Central British School staff for providing excellent fare prepared 121 the school kitchens, and for much helpful or- ganisation connected therewith.

FANCY DRESS PARADE After tes the girls returned to the fray, when there was a signal- ling and bandaging test. This was followed by the most spectacular event of the afternoon-a fancy dress parade, each patrol having dressed a guide in a costume en tirely made from coloured crepe paper. Astonishingly good results were obtained, particularly as the dresses were made in a very few minutes and the whole item was a surprise ona.

The last part of the competition was a Camp Fire when each Com- pany contributed a few minutes entertainment for the others.

Mrs. T. H. King, M.B.E. Colony Commissioner, in a few words then thanked Mr. Upsdell for his gen- erous help towards the success of the Rally; Mrs. G. A. C. Herklots. Assistant Colony Commissioner, for organising the entire competition and the various examiners who so willingly gave up time to the work. THE WINNERS.

Make-up must be applied with as much careful distinction as you use in choosing appropriate clothes. It is' never good taste to over do it.

Naturally you will want to look well-groomed riding, swimming or golfing. "If you are inclined to have a dry skin, then by all means wear a powder foundation when Indulging in, outdoor sports."
