War Games "Cease Fire"

Sounded

Following the Pacifican attacks made during the early hours of Sunday morning, a period of com- parative calm ensued.

Towards midday, however, the enemy cautiously advanced astride the Taipo Road but was brought to a halt in front of our pill boxes.

An enterprising detachment of the enemy crossed Tide Cove in boats and attempted to plerce our de- fences in the neighbourhood of Ore Rise More. The attempt failed and the detachment was annihilated.

On Sunday night, hostile troops were in touch with our forces in the Tide Cove and Sing Mun see- tors, but elsewhere contact between the two forces was very ephemeral.

FORWARD MOVEMENT

Reports received late last night Indicated the forward movement of

regiment of infantry and a brigade of Light Artillery south- wards through Talpo, and it was expected at Headquarters that this force would attempt to try con- clusions with qur defence within "the next 24 holirs.

As anticipated the Paciflegns de- fivered an attack near Tai Wai in the early hours of Monday morn- ing.

In the initial stages the enemy succeeded in capturing two impor- tant features, but were unable to advance further into our defensive position
