There is ample evidence that China's forces under Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek are now carrying on a campaign of attack with suc- cess. Consolidated and strengthened, they are not content with mere resistance, and a vigorous offensive la being pursued, with the Air Force playing a prominent part.

On certain sectors of the front Chinese troops have engaged the `Japanese garrisons in desperate street fighting. Guerilla troops have routed Japanese defenders, but particularly to be noted are the suc- cesses gained by the Chinese airmen.
