COMBINED VALUES OF IMPORTS AND EXPORTS of merchan- dise (excluding Tressure) as declared during January totalled $101.1 millions (6.3 millions) as compared with $74.0 millions (£4.6 mil- llons) in January last year, äccording to a report covering this period of Hong Kong's trade issued by the Statistical Branch of the Imports and Exports Department yesterday!

In terms of local currency the total visible trade of the Colony (excluding Treasure) increased by 36.6 per cent. in January, 1938, ns compared with January, 1837, and by 37.0 per cent. In terms of Ster- ling.
