CORINTHIANS TROUNCE COLONY ELEVEN
Fung's Spectacular Goal In Opening Minutes
The Islington Corinthians played their last game in the Colony yesterday at Caroline Hill when they beat the Colony XI by five goals to one after being one goal down in the first few minutes of the game.
It was a fitting end to a fine programme of "official" matches and although the Colony, supporters were on their feet cheering Fung King-cheong when he scored the opening goal, they were no less en- thusiastic in giving the Corinthians a very well-deserved round of applause when the team left the field.
There were thrills galore during when he got his head to the ball the ninety minutes of play. First and placed it out of the reach of Fung's goal whetted the appetite Duncan. London, January 26.
Before 45,000 people, in sunny weather, but with a blustery wind blowing, Scotland beat Ireland by 23 points to 14 in the Rugby In- ternational match played at Murrayfield today, after leading by 15 points to three at half-time,
The initial Irish rush took the ball across the Scottish line, but Roberts touched down and then Drummond cut through but was tackled by Craig when he might have scored had he kicked ahead.
The Irish forwards were having the better of the scrums, and Scotland had a narrow escape when Walker missed a penalty from the 25-yard line.
In the 25th minute of the game Scotland scored when Shaw, inter- cepting a pass, cut through smart- ly and when challenged by Craig passed to Forrest who had an easy try near the posts. Crawford sur- prisingly. falled to convert.

Crawford converted, the ball frst striking the post. Cromey neatly sold the dummy. and scored in the thirtieth min- ute. Bailey failed to convert.
