RAIN SOAKED GROUND

By Right-HalfTM

Another fine display of football was given by the Islington Corinthians at Caroline Hill yesterday when they beat the United Services by three goals to one after holding a three-nil lead in the first half.

After the morning rain the ground was very slippery and in this connection spécial mention must be made of the ball control of the visitors which at times bordered on the uncanny.

Pitted against a much superior team, the Services "were by no means disgraced especially in the second half when they gave the Corinthians' defence many, an anxious moment. They played much better football than did the South China team on the previous day but while the Chinese played against a fresh team, the Services had a somewhat tired side oppased to them.
