FUNG CHOSEN TO LEAD
CHINESE AGAINST
Final Trial Game With Royal Scots At Caroline Hill
DUNCAN BRILLIANT: CHAN SCORES TWICE
BY "RIGHT-HALF''
The sun shone brightly for the South China-Royal Scots football match at Caroline Hill Jester- day but the rains that fell during the past few days left the ground in a very slippery state. For this reason the brand of football played was not quite as high as it might otherwise have been though from the point of view of entertainment there was nothing lacking.
Duncan, in the Royal Scots' goal, played a very fine game. It la true that the Chinese won by four goals to one but with due respect to the people who scored three of them (the fourth was put into the net by Clarke), Duncan could hardly be blamed for any one of the markers.
The selection committee (South China Athletic Association) were there to watch form and at the conclusion of the game picked the following team to play against the Islington Corinthians on Satur
day:
Tam Kwan-kon; Mak Slu-hon. Lee Tin-sang; Lau Hing-choi, Lam Tak-po, Leung Wing-chiu: Yeung Shui-yick, Fung King-cheang (Cap- tain), Chan Tak-fai, Lal Shlu-wing, Cheung Moon-wing,

BATTLING RIO IN TRAINING
41
We have received a letter from Battling Rio, the well-known loca) boxer, stating that he has been keeping in strict training and that he is very anxious to meet Seaman Bob Harvey for the welterweight champoinship of which he (Rio) is the holder.
Some days ago was published an announcement to the effect that a well-known local spartaman was planning to stage a tournament and that he would be glad if all in- tending contestants would forward him their names. We have sent Battling Rio's letter to this source.
