Tin Control Scheme

With the International tin cont rol scheme working, if not to per- fection. at least as satisfactorily as it is possible for any scheme to. work when its primary object is the stablisation of price controlled by the regulation of supply, it is not unnatural that there should be a strong body of opinion which subscribes to the view that well should be left alone, says the Malaya Tribune. While there is great deal to- be said for that point of view, it is scarcely logical to regard it as anal and ruling out any possibility of Improvement in the scheme. That there is room for improvement is freely admitted by the Malayan tin industry which has carried the heavy end of the control burden ever since its inception. The dangers attendant on swopping horses while crossing a stream are well-known, but occasions arise when the operation becomes necessary. Cut In Quota
