Recent Landing

Tokyo, Jan 28.

Japanese action in respect of Hainan Island, it was stated by: the official spokesman of the Navy Ministry, WILS naturally lanted by treaties affecting the

The visit of the Japanese naval party to Yulin on Jan. 19, had formed the subject f conversa- tions lately between the French Ambassador and the Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs. It is under- stood the French Ambassador expressed apprehension regarding the security of Hainan.

Giving An explanation, the Vice-Minister said the visit of the Japanese naval party was for the purpose of ensuring effective in- terruption of Chinese maritime traffic and for no other purpose.

The Ambassador, it is stated. expressed satisfaction with the
