The Dunera, due to arrive on January 27, is bringing to Hong Kong the 2nd Bn. Royal Scots, whose personnel totals 740 officers and men and nearly 200 wives and familles, the full list for which has been published.

THE OBSERVER CORPS A new Western Area of the Ob- server Corps, the body of civilian watchers prganized somewhat on the lines of the special con- stabulary, has been organized with headquarters at Gloucester (11, Brunswick Road). The corps Was formerly divided into the Northern Area, with headquarters at the R.A.F. station at Hucknall, Natts, and the Southern Area, with head- quarters at Bentley Priory, Stan- the home of the Fighter more, Command.
NEW UNIT AT SINGAPORE A new unit known as the Aircraft Depot, Far East, has been formed at Beletar, Singapore. This brings the Far East Command lots line! with those in the Middle East, India, and Iraq, so far as mainten ance units are concerned.

TALK ON TONKIN
M. Lacollonge entertained a large gathering at the Queen's Theatre yesterday morning with a talk on Tonkin and, a fim showing the many attractions which it has to offer to tourists. The proceedings formed part of a programme or lectures which are being given in conjunction with the exhibition of Tonkinese arts and crafts.
The speaker traced the path of a tourist from Hong Kong to Hai- phong, and then on to Dosou. Hongay, Langsou and other points of interest. He dwelt at some

FUNERAL
The funeral of the late Mr. G. J.
Bartlett, who died from small-pox at the Infectious Diseases Hospital on Sunday, took place yesterday at the Protestant Cemetery.
