COMBINED SCHOOLS DEFEATED INDIANS' MAKE COSTLY
UNIVERSITY WIN HOCKEY
MATCH
Only Three Spectators Support Teams
The amazing spectacle of a team fully representative of the Hong Kong University and the combined schools of the Colony playing a hockey match before's crowd of exactly three specia- "tors (bardng, the Press) was sees yesterday at Pokfulam!
Such a thing, it is said, is not uncommon in Hong Kong. If It is. It should not be! Teams play a good deal better when they know they are being watched. Moreover, it was the first' match the combined schools were playing since the schools took serious- ly to hockey recently and the presence of their supporters would naturally have been some encouragement to the team.

MISTAKE
Coincidences In Cricket League Matches
ALLEN'S GREAT KNOCK FOR THE CLUB
BY “NEW L. B. W."
There was a rather surprising coincidence in three of the four- "senior, division' matches played in the cricket league last week, these games resulting in draws after tight finishes in which vic- tory might have gone to either side. Both the Joint shieldhold- ers, Hong Kong Cricket Club and Indian Recreation Club, haď narrow shaves, and in the third match Kowloon C.C., declaring at.. 164" for nine wickets, found the Army with 152 for seven when stamps were drawn.
