Shareholders

City circles in London are much cheered by the announcement that bigger profits were made in 1937 by two of the "Big Five" banks.

The Westminster Bank made £1,750,000 nët, while Barclays Bank netted £2,134,000, or '€240,- 31.40 000 more than last year.

The shareholders of Westminster Bank will get an unexpected bonus of two per cent. In addition to a 101 repetition of the eighteen per cent. dividend last year Shares of the bank are rising.

The other banks in the "Big Five" are Lloyds Bank, Midland Bank and, the National Provincial Bank.
