If the weather is favourable there are prospects of salvaging the Dollar liner "President Hoover" which went aground off Holshito Island recently, according to Mr. T. B. Wilson, Manager of the local office of the Dollar Steamship Lines. Inc. who returned to Hong Kong yesterday after a visit to the wrecked ship.

In the Colony of Hong Kong in- cluding the Island. Kowloon, and the New Territories during the week ending at 8 am on Satur- day. the 18th instant, there were altogether 49 traffic accidents, as the result of which two persons were killed and 16 persons were in- jured.

O: the persons killed, a Chinese boy, aged 5 years, was knocked down and fatally injured by a motor lorry while running across the road.

A Chinese boy, aged 9 years, died from injuries received when he fell to the ground and was run over by a motor lorry while walking in the roadway.

Of the persons injured, 8 were pedestrians, who were either walk- ing or running across the road and were struck by vehicles.

Three bus passengers and two tram-car passengers were injured while alighting from moving motor | buses and tram-cars respectively.

A doctor and a pathologist ex- pressed different views at a Cam- berwell inquest about the death of Robert Henry Collingridge. 60 a metalworker, of Dante-street. Wal-

Dr. Benzion Kounine said that Collingridge first came under his attention in 1930 suffering from chronic bronchitis, miocardial de- generation and dilatation of the lunga. He agreed, he put on the death certificate "silicosis of the lungs and heart failure."
