UNPRECEDENTED FEVERISH MANOEUVRING

REVISIONS

In Burke's Peerage

London, Dec. 18.

An unprecedented number of changes in the order of precedence among the ranks of the British nobulty will be recorded in the 1938 rdition of Burke's Peerage, which will be on sale in a few days.

The Changes, which aggregate 26.500, are not merely numerous but also important from the stand- point of individual persons pri- marily adfected.

Awe-Inspiring Spectacle Of Terrible Futility

Shanghal, Dec. 18.

A deadly military chess game is being played by the Chinese and Japanese armies as the opposing forces manoeuvre their war machines for impending ble battles. As the pace of the real-life war game quickens, foreign and Chinese observers are finding the strategy of the rival forces a matter for great speculation. While both sides rush men, ammunition and supplies to the war zones, a observers are finding difficulty in naming the definite points where the Japanese army will strike.
