WEST AFRICA CRUISE The escort vessel Rochester. Commander F W. Growse. left Simonstown on November 25 for a four months' cruise up the West Coast of Africa. Among the ports which she will visit are Victoria, December 14-21 Port Harcourt, December 22-28; Lagos, December 29-January 6: Takoradi, Jažuary 8-15; and Freetowni, January 19-25.
TRIBAL CLASS DESTROYERS The destroyer Punjabl will be launched by the Scotts' Shipbuild- ing and Engineering Company at Greenock on December 16, and the Bedouin by Messrs. Denny and Brothers, Dumbarton, on Decem- ber 21. With the launch of the Bedouin all the nine vessels of the 2nd Tribal Flotilla, authorized in the Navy Estimates of 1938. will be aftoat. They will come into ser- vice next summer.
SURGEON COMMANDER 'BEE Surgeon Commander A. G. Bee has been placed on the retired.list at his own request. He was ap- pointed a surgeon probationer in the R.N.V.R. in August, 1914.
