The price for 'Ready Silver rose 1/18 yesterday but the forward rate was unchanged, the quota- tions being 18 1/2 and 18 3/16 res- pectively. Silver advices reported India as having sold. There was some Board covering. Speculators operated both ways. After the official Axing India was a buyer at 5/16 over the fixed rate. A small business was done. Sellers were reluctant to sell. The mar- ket was steady. American Silver was quoted at 44 3/4 for Spot.
