CLUB'S NARROW VICTORY
RUGGER MATCH
WITH NAVY
A Hugby football game between the Club "A" XV and a Naval side drawn from the Small 'Ships in harbour was played on the Club ground. yesterday afternoon, the Club emerging the winners by a score at 5 to 3.
The play in general was very even, though somewhat ragged at times, and a number of good move- ments were spoiled by knock-ons and off-sides. After a scoreless first half, Morgan made a beauti- ful run, "selling the dummy and passed to Adams, who carried the ball over the line, scoring the Navy's first try. This, however, was not converted.
The game resumed, with Lam- mert carrying the ball within five yards of the Navy goal, but was well taken by Robinson, who throughout played a very good game. In a melce near the Navy touchline. Lammert managed to gather the ball and scored a fine try in the centre of the goal, which Oliphant converted.
The teams were:-
Club:-M. W. McGrath. L. Lam- mert, D. B. Nelson. J Redman, J. 1'.
L. Bonnar, Watts, J. R. Henderson. R. G. L. Oliphant. J. S. Dunnett, Dr. E. W. Stout, CF. Needham, Olsen, T. H: Pratt, A. W Holden and J. G. Harvey.
