BETTER VALUE THAN EVER

The Gillette No. 77. Set ilustrated here, which contains the Tales Gilloitu rezor, thrae Blue Gillette slotted blades and two tlade holders in a new type of moulded box, has these definite advantages.

The razor is made in two pieces instead of three, as formerly, thus making it easier and quicker to clean, assemble and usa. g

The blades are made by the new slectrical-tempering process. They give not only closer, cleaner shaves than you have ever had before, but also more shaves per blade.

The case is ideal for hot and humid climates as it is so aasy to keep clean.

Ask your dealer to show you a No. 77 Set--one of the most popular that Gillette have ever made.

NEW ANTHEM

FOR ALBANIA

Nation-Wide Contest. End

AS 2 result of a nation-wide contest new ruitional anthem has been chosen for Albania. It will be sung at the 25th anniver- sary celebrations on Nov, 28 of Albania's declaration of indepen- dence. The present anthem, in both text and tune. is very almilar to a Rumanian military march.

The winner of the contest to and new words for the anthem is Beqir Cela, a 23-year-old school teacher, from the village of Kar-· bunara, near the town of Lushn- ja. He has won a prize of 2,000 gold franes (worth £80 at par). There were 7, competitors.

The reinstatement of German arms meant a period of recon- struction for the Navy, Cor- responding Vi

to Germany's just claims for Canada's

prestige. The basis of this reconstruction is the Anglo-German fleet agreement of June 18, 1935. It is obvious that the new German Navy does not represent a menace for other sea Powers; on the contrary, it shows that Germany is willing to re- cognize the claims of other nailons for the size of fleet pertaining to them, writes L-Comdr. Olese in the "United Services Review." By virtue of this agreement the size of the German Fleet was volun taly placed in the ratio of 35-- 100 to the then stre.ush of the Lrtith Fleet Tils means Germany, by the present position of the British Navy, an approxi-la mate naval strength of 420,000

..

As, Brown Is unlikely to be member of the English team for the 'Sydney' Games it is fairly certain that Logging will score.

Canada has another class "400" runner in Bill Fritz, of Toronto, who beat Learing for fifth place in the Olymple anal last year by 2-5 sec., but it is thought that climatic conditions "down under" will better suit the Hamilton man

In view of England's weakness In quarter mile hurdlers, Loaring, on the strength of second to Glonn Harnin (USA) in Berlin last August; is practically certain to complete the "double."

Howle McPhee, who' falled to qualify in Berlin, and Larry O'Con- nor will be Canada's choice for the 100 metres, while Lee Orr, filth In the Olympic final. will go for the

200.

For the distance races, Wally Young is reckoned to have a distinct chance, while Jim Cour- twright is Canada's fancy for the javelin.

According to the agreement Germany has right. to the same submarine tonnage us Britain, but for the time being will restrict the figure to 45 per cent of the British tonnage. This is equivalent to a total submarine tonnage of 23.000 tons. On July 6, 1935, the new German naval programme W15 published. The following ships were projected:-

LORD CROMER

Retirement Denied

Lord Cromer, who is 60 is not yet contemplating an immediate retiremement from his office of Lord Chamberlain

"One day I shall retire, of course," he told a "Morning. Post" representative. "but I do not yet know when it will be perhaps at the end of the year or at the end of pext year. There has been a rumour that my health is falling but that is not correct. Since I have been staying in Scotland I have bech cruising and playing galf a good deal and I never felt better."

"

The Earl of Cromer, who suc- ceeded to his title in. 1017, has been Lord Chamberlain for 16 years. His best known power is the

censorship of stage peays, but he is the second dignitary of the King's Household-ranking next to the Lord Steward-and takes a pro- minent part in all State cere- monies.
