STEADY INCREASE IN US. FAR EASTERN TRADE

Washington, Oct. 12.

The steady increase of Ameri can Far Eastern trade is a feature of the statistics published by the Commerce Department.

Exports to Japan for the year up to October 1 amounted to G$216,720,000, an increase of 87 per cent. compared with the simi- lar period last year.

Imports from Japan for the. same period amounted to G$143.- 793,000, an increase of 33 cent.

aggregated G$43,007,000, an increase of 39 per cent, and imports from China wers $80.764.000. an increase of 45 per- cent,

The principal sales to Japan were cotton, scrap iron and steel, and to China a wide range of commodities, including a consider able quantity of aviation equip- ment,- Reuter.
