"THE "SECOND DAY OF THE EIGHTH EXTRA RACE MEETING WAS EVEN MORE ENJOYABLE THAN THE FIRST DAY AND AGAIN THE CLERK OF THE WEATHER FAVOURED RACE FANS WITHI KRILLIANT SUNSHINE AND THUS, COUPLED WITH THE FACT THAT THE COURSE WAS IN PERFECT CONDITION MADE FOR SOME EXCELLENT SPORT:
As was the case on the first day, there was only one upset and curiously enough it was the same jockey. Mr, S., W. Tang who pro- vided the thrill. On Saturday M. Tang brought Coronation Day first past the post in the Jordan Handicap to pay his backers $138,50: he caused and even bigger upset yesterday when he came in first in the Human Handicap on Gold Celn to pay the handsome return of $178.40 for a win and $23.60 for a place bet..
The Dally Double-Blandford-Yum Sing-only paid $51.30 but the cash sweeps were well supported. Although the fields in two of the races yesterday were extremely small, the form displayed by the ponies promises an extremely fine afternoon's sport at the next meeting when the big sweep on the Kwangtung Handicap will be held. The sale of tickets in this connection is going on very well indeed and it is expected that the lucky holder of the ticket for the first prize will receive something in the neighbourhood of $25,000.
KIANGSI HANDICAP
