Tsui Wai-Pui Successful With Both Titles
RUMJAHNS DEFEATED
Tsui Wai-pul, the youthful Chinese Davis Cupper, who on Saturday won the first Hardcourt Tennis Singles championship of the Colony, yesterday annexed the Doubles title. Partnered by W. C. Hung, the Chinese palr defeated H. D. Rumjahn and S. A. Rumjahn, frass court doubles champions of the Colony, 6-2, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.
Among the large number of spectators present was His Ex- cellency the Officer Administering the Government, Mr. N. L Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Smith who later presented the trophies.

LOCAL CRICKETERS IN GENERAL, AND SCHOOLBOYS IN PARTICULAR, WILL BE INTERESTED TO HEAR THAT THERE IS A MOVEMENT AFOOT TO ORGANISE · A HONG KONG SCHOOLS' CRICKET LEAGUE, THE WELL-KNOWN FIRM OF SPORTS OUTFITTERS, MESSKS, MAMAK & CO., HAVE GEN- EROUSLY PROMISED TO PUT UP A SHIELD FOR COMPETI– TION, AND WHEN ASKED WHETHER HE HAD ANY OBJEC- TIONS AGAINST THE FORMATION OF SUCH A COMPETITION, MR. W. KAY, THE ACTING DIRECTOR 'OF. EDUCATION INTIMATED THAT 16" FELT THAT A SCHOOLS' CRICKET TOURNAMENT WOULD BE VERY DESIRABLE. Personally I think that it would be a step in the right direc- tion for these inter-school league matches would give the boys what is commonly described as "match experience" and it is griting to be more and more apparent that while it was not so much the case in former years, the different clubs in Hong Kong are now looking to the schools as nurseries.

An Arab bank manager has been arrested and all the frontiers ̈re- borted to be surely guarded, as a result of the assassination of the British District Commissioner for Nazareth, Mr. Lewis Andrews, re- cently, and other signs of unrest. The news of to-day's develop ments spread throughout Palestine rapidly where there is an increas- ing feeling of tension.
The possibility of more serious troubles has not been ignored by the authorities who have a re- arranged plan ready to cope with any situation which may arise.
An Arab who refused to halt when challenged, was shot 'dead by British sentries this morning.
The President of the Arab Party. for whose arrest a warrant has been issued. is believed to have fled the country-- Beuter.
