Insurance Refused By War Risk Clubs

Some of the associations in the London group insuring shipowners against war risks are informing their members that in the present conditions they cannot. cover ships entering Shanghai or ports in the Yangtze River, says the "Times."

Many bills of lading provide that the shipowners shall have liberty to comply with instructions given in connexion with war in- surance and stipulating that de- livery of cargo in accordance with such orders shall be a fulfilment of the voyage, and it is suggested In our City columns that many owners, who are, in fact, unable to dispatch their ships to Shang- hal, will be glad to have the present ruling.
