DESTROYERS FOR MALTA H.M.S. Intrepid. Commander R. F. 3. Swinley, has left Portland to Join the 3rd Destroyer Flotilla In the Mediterranean. She was de Hvered to the Navy on July 29 by her builders, J. Samuel White and Co. Limited, Cowes. The Intrepid Is to call at Gibraltar on August 34-25 and should arrive at Malta on August 28.
Her sister-ships the Imogen Commander E. B. K. Stevens. and Icarus. Lleut.-Comdr. C. D. Maud. have arrived at Malta from Eng- land to join the 3rd Flotilla.

recently from the command of No. 2 (Indian Wing) Station at Risal: pur has joined the Directorate of Organization, Air Ministry, in suc cession to Wing Commander E. S. Goodwin, A.F.C. Wing Commander Grigson has had 21, years' com- missioned service in the 'R.N.A.S. and R.A.F., and formerly served for 31 years in the ranks of the R.N.V.R. For over 12 months he flew on active service with Wing Commander O. R. Gayford as his observer, the officer who in 1933 gained for this country the world's long-distance record by a non-stop. fight from Cranwell to Walvis Bay. Wing Commander Gayford is also now at the Air Ministry.
