Wearing Of Plain Clothes
Decisions have now been given by the Admiralty on a further
series of requests put forward at the Review of Service Conditions held in the naval commands last Autumn. Six groups of these de- cisions have now been announced in as many months, in which the Board have disposed of about 850 requests out of more than 4,000 submitted.
It is approved for plain clothes to be worn by CP.Os and petty officers when proceeding on leave from and returning to home shore establishments, subject to no use being made of Service boals, and provided that in no circumstances are the men

CADETSHIPS AT DARTMOUTH
It is announced in Fleet Orders that a qualifying examination for the entry of naval cadets into the R.N. College, Dartmouth, will be held in December. Candidates must be between the ages of 13 years four months and 13 years eight months on December 1, and applications to sit for the exhinina- tion must be received at the Admiralty before October 18. There will be approximately 45 vacancies.
