An Honest Junk Master

Described as being too honest by telling a Revenue Officer that the tobacco was his, a funk-master. was brought before Mr. K. Keen yesterday. The accused was Chan Sap-ng owner of junk No. 837, who was charged with possession of dutiable tobacco. Mr. C. Russ who represented the defendant, sald that the defendant was master of the junk who had about hine fokis to help him. The tobacco was brought aboard by one of the nine and was used for their own consumption. When the junk was in British waters they threw the tobacco overboard. That he said was rather incriminating but an explanation was that they grew Frightened and discarded it. He then asked his Worship to deal leniently with the case as the defendant had Instructed him to plead guilty on his behalf.

His Worship Imposed a fine of $75.

HE WANTED A SOUVENIR After notice was given by the landlord a man tried to get a souvenir from the flat in which, he used to live. The defendants, Tie Wing and Ko Lai were brought be fore Mr. Schofield yesterday charged with larceny of 16 panes of glass from No. 40 Bowrington Road. The first admitted the larceny charge but. the second stated that the first one employed. him to take the glass out.

Inspector Baker said that Arst defendant was a tenant of the fat and was given notice by the, landlora, the Wing On Company. Before leaving the defendant de- elded to take something with him so he took the glass. They were caught by a district watchman when they attempted to sell the glass. Inspector Bäker stated that the damage done amounted to about $14.

His Worship remanded the case for two days so that the defen- dants could raise the sum to pay as amends.

A BULLY BOUND OVER Being the bully of the district and being out of his stepmother's control, a youth of 17 years of age asuulted a lad who was much younger and weaker than himself. The defendant, Wong Fat was brought before Mr. W. Schofield yesterday, charged with assaulting Lee Kwok-yau in Sai Wan ho on August 10.
