It was a scene that took one back to ancient time.

Arthur's Seat once more looked

down on a picturesque, colourful spectacle such as it, witnessed in bygone days. And once again loyal subjects were curtaving be- fore a Scottish Queen in the grounds of Holyroodhouse stately, smiling Queen who accom- panied her Sovereign on his in- spection of His Majesty's Body guard for Scotland.

Standing in line, two" deep, in the centre of the lawn, the Royal Company of Archers awaited the arrival of the King. Lörd Horder, Physician-in-Or- dinary to the King, told me recently why he asked that his name. should be deleted from the list of those who had expressed sympathy with the proposals of the newly- formed Guild of Pastoral Psycho- therapy, writes a correspondent In the "Evening News.

The Guild has as its objects the encouragement of psychological. 'study among clergymen and the provision for them of adequate training in the practice of psycho- therapy.

Lord "Horder's name, appeared originally between those of the Earl of Lytton and the Bishop of Bradford in the list of names which was contained in a sinali booklet.

After the booklet was printed Lord Horder withdrew permission for his name to be used and it was blacked out.

"NOT IN PUBLIC INTEREST Lord Horder said "I was asked if I was sympathetic towards clergymen being trained in psychology. I said: Yes; thể more psychology clergymen know the better.

Was I sympathetic towards. their giving their parishioners psycho-therapy? No; the public would and reasonably take this" to be spiritual healing.

The essence of the present movement seemed to be the latter, and, therefore, I asked the my name be not used." I do not think It is in the public interest that paycho-therapy should be practised by anyone who has not had medical training.
