Soares, well-knower medical practitioner of Macao who to-day proceeding on bome leave to Lisbon, prior to re- tirement, was the guest of honour at a farewell reception given at the Club Lusitano by the local Portuguese community, when glowing tributes to the services rendered by Dr. Soares were paid by the President. Mr. Leo D'Almada e Castro Snr., who expressed grati- tude, on behalf of the Portuguese community, not only of Hong Kong but also of Macao, for all Dr. Soares had done for them during- his term of office.
