Colour Designs For The Summer

With the Grande Semaine. fas- hion touches its highest point in the summer season, writes a Paris correspondent. Diplomatic parties and other events call for elaborate dressing.

Simple tallormades at Auteul and Longchamp have given place to long sidris of plain white organ-" die and embroidered muslin, to long slender dresses of hand-knit- ted silks, to satins. crepes, cache- mires in delicate colours, which are worn with big hats, flower to- ques, and hata of moderate dimen- sions. The capelines have stiff straight brims this year, rather difficult to wear. The hats with more moderate brims have a lifted sweeping line on one side, much ..more becoming. It is the fashion. to wear a bright-coloured hat with a black dress, as when a long black dress goes with a corn-col- oured straw hat to match the silk embroidery of yellow corn on, the bodice.
