HIGH PRAISE FOR PILOT This, is the second occasion on which the Royal Air Force has successfully attempted to secure the altitude record and the Air Ministry state that high praise is due to the pilot for his sustained flying effort which has enabled the existing record to be broken by a substantial margin.

The aircraft, engine and special equipment are of British design and manufacture. The aircraft took off from the

aerodrome At Farn- borough, Hampshire, at 5.40 am. and landed there at 7.55 8.m. There was a clear sky and a prac- tical wind when the ascent, which took one hour and thirty-five minutes, began.

The attempt was observed by an. official representative of the Royal Aero Club and the height attained has been officially communicated to the Ministry by the Club. “ British Wireless.
