The success of this Society has led many similar to be established, such as that of Ireland, India and Australia. There is in America one called the International Catholic Truth Society which works in har- mony with the other societies and republishes many of their publica- tiona. It distributed over twenty million papers and pamphlets dur- ing the first twenty-five years of Its existence. The Hong Kong Catholic Truth Society has made a quiet beginning but it has already pablished pamphlets and leaflets both in English and Chinese. It is the intention of the Society to provide in brief form publications giving the Information about Ca- tholic things that is most sought af the present time.

The celebration of St. John's feast goes back to very ancient times, and it is celebrated with special splendour by the Armenians and Copts. In places of Europe the lighting of Ares on the hills on the eve of the feast is a relic of the old popular celebration.
