BAER TO STAY IN ENGLAND
Instead of leaving for America as he intended if he had lost to Ben' Foord, Max Baer was recently Jubliantly discussing a pro- longed stay in this country, states the "Evening Standard.”
His smashing come-back against Britain's former champion has convinced Baer that he can still attain big things and fight the world's best..
Smalling and, unmarked he was out very early at Esher taking a long walk over the countryside with his wife and telling her how he had conquered...
"I knew I had him from the start," Baer told a reporter, "and 1 only waited until I got my eye in properly to land a big pancha
"I nearly did it in the second round, but the bell saved Foord and I was quite content to wait until the opportunity presented itself again.
I really felt sorry that I had to hit Ben so hard in that ninth round, but I had to win convincingly to prove that I have not lost my punching powers. Foord showed wonderful pluck.”
Baer, whose ear and throat were damaged, saw a specialist.
Mr. Ancil Hoffman, Baer's man- ger, said that they were keen to stay in England for more fights, and hoped to arrange something within the next few days,

Theatre. Shanghại, again leaped into the news a żów days ago when the film which was to be shown. "We Are From Kran gladt," was banned hair an hour before the time when it was to start. The order that the film was to be withdrawn came from, the City Government of Greater Shanghal, although the film had already been passed by the Nan- king censors.
The film centered around the revolutionary events in Russla in 1919.
A picture that had been banned from exhibition in the Settlement, “Spain In Flames," was hurriedly substituted and shown to an au dience, depleted owing to the fact that many who had come to see te original picture went away dis- appointed.
A strong detachment of Chinese police, "under Inspector "Power" Chen, were present at the theatre during the performance, in addition to uniformed and plain clothes members of the Settlement Police. It was the re-opening night of the theatre, which had been closed for repairs following a rald by Italian mariries during the showing of a fim called "Abyssinia."
