BOWLS LEAGUE RESUMES AFTER RAIN

Craigengower Just Manage To Beat Kowloon Docks

After a hold-up of two weeks owing to heavy rains, Lawn Bowls League matches were resumed on Saturday when a fall, pro- | gramme was played.

Visiting Hunghom, the champions in the Senior Division, Craigengower C.C. only just managed to come away with full points in their match against the Kowloon Dock Recreation Club. By defeating the Hong Kong Football Club, the Club de Recreio maintained their 100 per cent record.

Among the skips, honours of the day went to W. 5, Drake who carried off the honous with a win over J. 8. Riddell by 33 shots. The Police skip scored singles at sir ends.

The Hong Kong Baseball Club defeated the Filipinos by the odd run in seven when they met in their League Baseball encounter at Caroline Hill yesterday.

innings.

The Filipinos took the lead in the second innings, having falled to score any in the first, when they made one run, but were unable to add to their total, in the face of skillful pitching by R. McCall, Seventh until the fourth and innings when they added one run in each.

The HK. Baseball Club were

blanked out for the first three innings. In the last three Innings they added, four runs which gave them a narrow victory.

"Bad fielding on the part of the Filipinos was contributed factor to their losing the game. Towards the close of the encounter, they made several costly errors.

The Filipinos although they had played for over 30 minutes in the sun, sportingly opposed the Pui Ching nine. The latter had 'urged that the game be played.
