Hong Kong, June 11. Silver prices were lower yester- day to the extent of 1/8 for Ready and 3/18 for Forward, the quota- tions being 20 for both deliveries, Silver advices reported India as having
sold. American trade bought to a certain extent. The market closed steady. After the official fixing there were buyers at the fixed rate. American Silver was quoted at 44 5/4 for Spat.
The London-New York cross- rate was quoted at: 493.35 New York-London was quoted at 493,- 7/16.
MARKET Fairly active. The was easy.
STERLING Business was done at 1/2 25/52 for September. October and De- cember. The market closed at 1 p.m. with sellers at 1/2 3/4 June- December, buyers at 1/2 25/32 for any delivery.
U.S. DOLLARS Business was done at 30 5/16 for September, August and July. The market closed at 1 p.m. with sellers at 30 5/16 June-July and 30 1/4 August-November, buyers at 30 3/8 Cash-July and 30 5/18 August-November.
