The top is slit to the waist in back, where the dress ties with a perky bow of white sharkskiṁ faced in navy. taffeta. A similar bow is seen at the throat. A wide band of the dotted material gives added dash to the bottom of the full skirt. The dress was de- signed for Miss Glbson, currently playing in R.K.O.'s "The Wo- man I Love," by Miss Hollywood, Jr.

has attained improved poise in her clothes and, though she values simplicity, is no longer afraid of a certain element of audacity in her hats.

Think of the many quaint re- vivals in bonnets and boaters, and the side-movements in floral and feathered "toques. The smart wo- man will want to try them all. She is aslated by the ingenious adaptations by our foremost de- signers, for some of the most com- plicated shapes also strike the new note of simplicity.

Pill-box and pork-ple shapes are as popular in straw and ribbon as they were in felt. The bonnet cap sits snugly on the head, but the latest halo-front is a some- what eccentric affair, showing lovely colours in strands of satin- pipings that look like straw, and clusters of various coloured flowers appear in the front,
