The week has been a quiet one, and more or less devoted to pre- Settlement adjustment, despite which prices have for the most part been well maintained.

Realties have Improved to $6.05 and Underwriters to $1.90, while Public Utilities and investmenta generally have continued in Jair demand at previous prices.
Cements, Hotels and Providents, (Old) have eased slightly on Bet- tlement liquidation but have been readily absorbed at more attrac- tive rates. Providents (New), have advanced to 75 cents.
In the Sterling section, Banka improved slightly to $1890)
Manila prices peased during the. week under review. and that mar- ket was likewise a quiet one. Bub- sequently rates showed a better tendency, and close firm at about the same level as that reported a week ago.
The Ewo Cotton Manufacturing Co. announce a new issue at Sh. $12 of 200,000 shares. The price of the existing shares has improv- ed to 8h.$16. "

The price for Ready Silver drop- ped 1/18 yesterday but the For-Elec Power & Light ward rate W35 unchanged the Elec Power & Light- quotations being 20.5/16 and 20 $7 pl. 7/16 respectively. Silver advices reported speculators as having sold, A small business was done. After the official fixing India was a small buyer for spot but the forward market appeared easy.
American Silver was lower at 44 7/8 for Spot.
