BRUTAL TAIPO MURDER

Aged Widow Bound And Strangled

The hearing of the case in which Tseng Kła, a widow aged 20 years, was the victim of a brutal murder, alleged to have been com #mitted by Chan Lo, alias Chan Yuk-lam, aliar Chan Hing, aged 27. stated to be the adopted nephew of the deceased, Ching 'Sau Chi aged 26, kept woman, and Chan Tsam, aged 52, married woman, was commenced before Mr. Justice Lindsell, at the Criminal Sessions, Supreme Court, yesterday morning,

The three went to Taipo on the 23rd when second and third accused stayed in a board- Ing house whilst first accused stayed with a clansman. They thought he was going alone to the village. Next morning he went to the boarding house and third ac- cused asked him whether he had got the money. He said he had not. and third accused ordered him to go that day but he did not and instead went to Kowloon. On his return to Taipo he told third accused that he had not got the money. She said "it must be done at any cost to-night:" all three of us will go." On arrival in the village first accused went into the aunt's house first and then asked both of them to go. in. Third accused said it was neces- sary to tie her up and gag her as noise. As Lo Wing Sheung was not pre- sent in Court to prove that alm was in his possession, the case was adjourned until Tuesday, May 25, at 2.30 p.m.. the defendant being allowed ball of 8500.
