The King's Medal In

The King's Medal awarded in the Clicquot
Commonwealth of Australia has been won for 1937 by Private E. W. Potter, of the 43rd/48th. Since Private Potter also won last year he will be awarded a Bar to the medal, and will be entitled to wear a silver rose on the ribbon in Ser- vice dress, states the Times."
Ten men have been successful twire or more in the competition for these medals. The greatest number of wins has been achieved by Lieutenant D. T. Burke, of Tre Governor-General's Foot Quards of Canada, who won the King's Frize at Bisley in 1924. He has been successful on Ave occasiorus, in 1935, 1927, 1929, 1930, and 1931... C.Q.M.E. N. A. Fereday, 1st Batta- Hon. Salisbury Regiment, Southern Rhodesia, and S.S.M. J. D. Shearim, of Australia, have each won four times. C.Q.M.S." P. F. S. Morgas, of Southern Rhodesia, and Nälk Barna Sing Thapa, 2/2nd KEO. Gurkha Rifles. have each three times.

The medal for the Army at Home has been won twice by Lieutenant W. Jagger, The King's Royal Rife Corps, and C.S.MI. T. Moore, ef the Small Arms School, won the last medal for the Armies at Home in 1934 and the first medal for the Regular Army in 1935, when a separate medal was instituted for.. the Territorial Army. Captain J. W. Houiden, The Sherbrooke Regl- ment. Canada, G. W. Church. South Africa, and L D. Busschau, South Africa (the King's Prize win ner at Bisley last year), have each won the King's Medal twice in their respective countries. The medals are the premier awards in the Empire for "battle shooting."
