RESULTS

Pittsburgh Lose To New York

New York, May 13. It took Carl Hubbell, New York's ace pitcher, to stop the Pittsburgh Pirates in their march at the top. of the National League. They were halted abruptly, in spite of Vaug¬ han's two home runs, though they are still comfortably secure at the head of the League table and can afford.to drop a game now and

then.

Hubbell broke all existing pitch- ing records by winning his twenty- first successive league game in a two-year period.

New York hit thirteen, Bartell claiming a homer, and scored, five runs. Pittsburgh had six hits, two of them homers, produced only two counters.

Cincinnati went down before the

Dodgers; Brooklyn won six to four. though each had eight hits.

Chicago and Boston battled fox twelve innings before the Cubs slipped in two runs to break the tie. Cubs scored tight to the Bruins' six, though they were out- hit, thirteen to tem.

St. Louis beat Philadelphia five to four with seven hits to eight, Cards pronted by the Philles' four errora. J. Moore hit a homer.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

New York Yankees beat St. Louis Brown four, to two. Vosmik's homer didn't help the losers. Browns could only hit eight and New York scutted around the bases on twelve.

Washington scored a ten-run to two victory. over Chicago, with fourteen hits and a homer by Hill The White Sox hit eight. Each had two errors.

"Gill of Detroit pitched a shut-out game against Boston, allowing only four hits. Detroit scored four runs on five hits.

The Philadelphia-Cleveland game was called on account of rain.--| Keuter.
