On May 10, two days before the Coronation, the General Post Of fice expect to issue the special lid. commemorative stamp bearing the heads of the King and Queen, simultaneously with the new per- manent issue of ¿d., Id., and 21d.kin's Violin Recital, at Oriental stamps carrying the head of the King only.

Both the Royal Mint and the General Post Office are working at high pressure to ensure that the new coins and stamps will be avaliable, and are gradually over- taking a variety of difficulties.

"It will be quite impossible to is- sue the whole of the new coinage In May," an official of the Mint told me. "We have been very pressed for our dies, although in the case of bronze coins the dif- ficulty has not been so great.
