Jack M'Lean, the young Scottish golfer, who turned professional last year after a sensational de-. feat at the 37th hole in the final of the American Amateur Cham- plonship, has just won the first big professional tournament for which he has entered.

This was the Scottis Northern Open Tournament which was played at Losemouth, and ended in a tie. In the play-off Lean won by alx strokes.
