London, May 3. The decoration of the streets of the Coronation route is now well advanced and the buildings are gally adorned with flags, banners and festoons, and pylons are almost all in position.

Despite the absence of buses, the streets were thronged yes- terday with sightseers and the warm spring sunshine to-day again attracted great crowds, particularly to the neighbourhood of Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace.

The Insurgents, under General Mola, attacking Bilbao, claim their latest advance has cut Bil- bao from its Bermeo roadstead, from which part all refugeea have been evacuated during the past three months. The present victory has opened the way for an encircling movement to the north of Bilbao.

A communique issued from Sala- manca claims the capture of Ber- meo and Mindaca, adding that 3,000 Basques are retreating from the two captured towns, falling back on Bilbao.

A despatch from St. Jean de Luz, French border town, says the capture of Bermeo by the Insur- gents makes the question of a port of evacuation for the Basque re- fugees more difficult than ever. At the moment efforts are being made to evacuate women, children and aged people from Bilbao, but the port is blockaded and being raided constantly by aircraft, and the work is dangerous to refugees and rescuers alike.- Reister.

A communique has been issued from Insurgent headquarters at Salamanca, stating the loss of the battleship Espana was due to the striking of a mine, one of the numerous charges placed outside Government ports by the In- surgent themselves.

The communique says the reports that the sinking of the ship was due to an aerial bombardment are fantastic and add that at no time was any Government plane sighted by the Espana. The rescue of the Espana's crew was carried out in perfect order, it is claimed.
