CUP FINAL

Brilliant Triumph At Wembley

London, May 1

Sunderland accomplished a feat rare in FA Cup Final history to day when they fought back after being a goal di va against Preston, to triumph brillantly by three goals to one. Gurney. scored, the equaliser in the 51st minute of the -game, and for twenty tense min- utes, the see-saw struggle went on. Then last year's League champions scored twice in quick succession and the Cup was theirs, for the first time in their history."-

Preston played gallantly and were definitely on top before the interval. A second goal was dis-, allowed shortly after, the lead had been established.

The match was favoured with brilliant sunshine and as usual
