Mr. Laus finally urged members of the Boclety, and the English and Chinese Press to co- operate in doing propaganda work,- in order to call the attention of the public to the danger, and to spread the knowledge of the great harm caused by the smoking of heroin.

After the ten party, a group photograph was taken.

The week before a very good musical performance was given by the local Philharmonic Society, and this - also played to practically empty houses for three nights out "of four, and must (I should think)

In contradistinction to this, I have also noticed that hundreds pay relatively high prices to watch" football at every match, though the ground is decidedly inaccessi- ble

Not long ago a dancé display was given by Miss Daisy O' Keefe, which was packed, and another similar display given shortly after, by Mr. Goricharoft, was also very well attended

Why is it that the Hong Kong public will flock to a dance dis- play, and avoid a musical comedy: and flock to ordinary football matches, and ignore tennis finals?

THE COMMITTER:

The chief bridesmaid was Miss Rita Elizaga (sister of the bride) who wore a picture frock of forget- me-not blue taffeta, with draped sleeves and a long sash tied at the back in a batterfly bow. Instead of a hat she wore a plastron of pale pink roses which matched her bouquet.

Two tiny bridemaids were Vir- ginia Gonzales and Sylvia da Cos-

ta

who had dainty old-world frocks of cycleman-pink taffeta reaching to the ground, and who carries posles of white carnations.

After the wedding a reception was held at the Metropole Hotel. The honeymoon is to be spent in Macao. The bride's going-away costume was of light bluish gray bilstered crepe.
